The Chemical Make-up

Oh spring! What joys have you in store for me?

Warmth, Sunshine, Jobs…Oh yes, in comes spring, in come the jobs.

Very exciting stuff here!

Last year I was fortunate to land a gig with a logging equipment company, as the Coffee/Coupon girl.  It was a blast!  I hired 2 other girls to work the gig with me and we had a great time.  Hand out a hot cup o’ joe and a super great coupon, smile, look cute, chatter with the customers and make a few bucks at the end of the day.  Not a bad deal if I do say so myself…and I do.

Plus I think the girls had fun too!

Well the good news is… I was hired AGAIN!!! for the show they are doing this year in Bangor, ME.

The downside, it’s a 5.5 hour drive, one way.

But since the company was so pleased with my services last year, they have agreed to all my requests and everyone comes out happy!

Even J gets to go, since I needed a babysitter I could trust…and who better than Poppa?  He’s pretty happy though, because he gets to hang out around BIG logging machines and gawk and stare at all the new tools and power saws and sawmills and hot girls, okay probably not hot girls, but hey they hired us, so maybe other booths got the idea too…

On second thought, maybe J shouldn’t be going…

Hmmm..

Ok, so this job has a few requirements, one of them being Make-up (you know the stuff, mascara, lip gloss, blush).

Well since I made the decision to become a mom and a more conscious humanbeing, I’ve discovered all the awful chemicals that the big companies want to plop into our personal care items and label as fit for human use.

It makes me sad… I mean it… I’m in tears at the thought.

It’s actually so sickening to think that they do this to people…. and people just take it and say thank you… and please may I have some more…Oh and while you’re at it could I have some random handful of side effects that are going to mess up my genetic “makeup” (no pun intended)?..

Okay moving on… before I end up on a rant about that.

So where were we? Oh yes, we are REQUIRED to wear make-up. And the customer is always right, right?

And since I had some time, you know being a new mom and all, I mean that’s all us new moms do is sit around surfing the internet, eating bon bons and gossiping about the latest desperate housewives episode, desperately hoping our screaming infant will feed themselves magically for the first time, hahahha, just kidding. Okay so I decided that I would see if I could just make my own, make-up…. that is what we were just talking about right?

Sorry mom brain seems to kick in at the worst moments, then I forget everything I was just doing.

Alright D, focus, Make-up, got it, looking it up, right!, on it! I mean, after all how hard can it be?

How hard indeed…

Well the good news, I found several promising recipes and have decided to share them here.

The bad news, I have permanently dyed my hands red from the overzealous use of beet powder….

Okay not really.

I just really wanted to say that because in all likelihood it will happen… maybe…. probably.

I’ll post the recipes and photos of me using J as a guineapig (unbeknownst to him..he he he) model.

Realistically it’ll probably be me modeling it, but a girl can hope right?

Well wish me luck.  Should have something up in a few days, just waiting for supplies.

Oh beet powder, how long must thou take?
